I had purchased a refrigerator (RT33HDRZASP/TL), bearing Serial No. 030J4PAF501333N. and microwave from Samsung through dealers Dawar and Croma. Both the units were defective. The fridge did not have sufficient cooling and the food kept inside would get spoiled. The installation also took greater than 30 days after repeated calls from my side (atleast 10-15 to get it installed). After installation, realized there was a problem with the cooling system and called Samsung again. 3 engineers came and gave me 3 different solutions to the problem. The surprising thing is that there is no complaint reference number that Samsung provides you with. The whole process is manual and engineers call you up expecting you to accommodate your working schedule to their convenience. Otherwise the process just gets delayed inordinately. I had to take a break from my work atelast 10 times to get these 2 products installed / repaired / checked etc. The final solution given to me for the fridge was – please wait for a couple of months. Once the temperature comes down, the fridge will work fine. I found this extremely ludicruous response given that I stay in NCR where the temperature in summers hit 50 degrees in the shade. After numerous follow-ups with their center and getting no solution, I was forced to send an email to their CEO’s office. This resulted in many calls but no solution to my problem. I then received a call from them saying they cannot refund the money as it had crossed 30 days. Now it was Samsung’s problem that they had not installed the unit within 30 days. When I said I would be forced to take legal action, I received a call from their office saying that they were preparing a check for the refund and then asked me for my details. I was shocked on receiving a letter from Samsung stating that they will not be refunding my money for the defective refrigerator. The icing on the case was that I have a defective microwave unit as well. The amount of trouble and inconvenience Samsung has caused me is not funny. I am very disappointed that a consumer electronics giant like Samsung has such pathetic after sales support. And such a callous attitude towards consumers. This is tantamount to harassment. Please look into this matter SERIOUSLY. I will be pursuing this. Thanks, Seema
