I am located in Windhoek, Namibia and am part of the India Embassy. I had booked a cab for my mother aged 75 years for her visit to Bangalore. The cab was booked at Savaari car rentals. The brief details are as follows: 1. Cab was required on 24 May 14 at 0900Hrs. 2. Booking done on 22 May 14 online at their website. 3. Full payment made through the credit card. 4. Confirmation mail received from Savaari Car Rentals confirming the booking. Savaari Booking Confirmation : S0514-1295272 5. Mail received from the company at approximately 2130 hrs on 23 May 14 that the booking is cancelled. 6. I contacted them on telephone from Namibia requesting and pleading with them that the booking be restored since full payment had already been made and it was for my mother aged 75 years. I made three to four calls again, but to no avail. I sent them an e-mail also, but there was no response to the e-mail also. 7. They should not have accepted the booking if they did not have enough cars. 8. Priority should have been given to the customers who have already made the complete payment. Even the age of the passenger was disregarded. P.S: THERE WAS NO OPTION FOR SELECTING THE CAR RENTAL SERVICE UNDER “BRANDS”. HENCE, MAKEMYTRIP HAS BEEN SELECTED BU THIS IS NOT CORRECT. MAY PLEASE BE IGNORED
The cancellation of the service paid for in full caused me harassment and mental trauma. I now had to call other cab services at short notice from Namibia. My mother was in a state of distress and was restless throughout the night on knowing about this cancellation. I had to be awake till late in the night and now having lost faith in the other car services as well, had to again get up at 0130 Hrs as per Namibian Standard time (0600 Hrs Indian Standard Time) to tie up the details and ensure no more inconvenience and trouble for my mother. My mother in a state of distress forgot to carry certain important documents to Bangalore from Pune resulting in another trip which will have to be made to resolve certain impending issues.
I demand Revocation of the license granted to the Car Rental Company. 2. Check their records to see how many cars were given by them to customers who had not made a payment. 3. A damage suit of INR 1,00,000/- for the distress and trauma caused to me and my mother.
