I had bought a new Sony Xperia Go mobile phone from Sony authorized retailer in Srinagar on 02-07-2013 and after a few months of use the phone’s touchscreen became unresponsive. I took it to a service center and they returned the phone after two months with no job card and the phone still in the same state, not fixed at all. I contacted the service center and sent my phone ( still in warranty) for repair again for the same issue and this time they didn’t take the phone for repair at all. They provided me with a with job card of the same exact phone( same IMEI, same model) dated months before the actual date of purchase (02-07-2013). Since it was clear from the job card that the phone I purchased was a used/defected piece, so I contacted the same authorized retailer and he told me to talk to the sales office. After verifying the job card and the my purchase receipt, instead of helping me out with the issue, the sales office people rather acted arrogantly and provoked me to file a case against Sony in the consumer court. One of the employees in the sales office said that even if the consumer court tells me to provide the compensation for the factory-defected phone, I won’t agree to it. I can file a case in the consumer court with a very strong hold as evident from the job card and the purchase receipt. I have wasted enough time and money around this issue. Since the phone spent most of its time in defective state and was held at the service center, I would not want the same model back as it has become outdated without being used. So I request for a payback of the actual amount mentioned on the purchase receipt. Kindly check the attached receipt and job card ( dated months before I actually purchased it. Also I wasn’t provided with any job card under my name when I took the phone to the service center).
