in SBI, Civil station branch, Palakkad, has been made dormant for reasons cannot be justified. From 6th April 09 I have made many requests online for fund transfer in favour of my Old aged mother, through online. Despite having enough funds in my account the transaction has been not allowed. Thereafter I have made several requests to the branch manager and customer relations cell of the bank to check and enable the transfer but they did not. Their explanation is that for the last 6 months I have not made a single withdrawel from my account, so the account has become dormant. This explanation does not stands valid, as the condition for an account become dormant and inoperative is not withdrawal only for a long period but “NO Transactions” for a long time. Transaction means either deposits or withdrawal or both. In my account in Feb 09 I have made deposits and the same is reflected in the statement. This fact I had written to the branch manager and also to the customer service executive. But the manager replied me to arrange for some withdrawal to make my account active again. Then since the transfer was so important for me as the amount is required for the medical expenses of my mother, without wasting more time , I tried to withdraw some cash through ATM in my area and unfortunately it was also found disabled. I have made all these problems known to the branch manager through e mails, copies of the same are kept with me. Now, after seeing no favourable action from the bank, I humbly request for your intervention and extend justice in this case kindly. I have been made to borrow cash from others to pay my mother which has become necessary due the bank’s unethical behaviour. I had also made transfer requests after 6th April09 which are also failed. All these have resulted in lose of my prestige as I could not meet my committment in time. So, I beg for your intervention and extend justice to me.
