iam vishnu and iam a btech final yr student at sree chitra thirunal college of engineering and a resident of ambalamukku,trivandrum.iam writing this letter in anguish and dissapointment at the unfair price levied from the people by the retailers.the reason for this is an incident.
on 11/05/2010 morning at 11 i had an interview at felicity square in statue,trivandrum.so i reached statue at 10.30 and i didnt had resume and copy of certificates so i did took my usb with me so that i could take the print out of it and thus i searched for a shop to take print out and i went down on the road that connects MG road from statue to general hospital and on the left side of the road i found “ROMANSONS STUDIO” and it was a complex of many activities like print out and spiral binding etc.so i decieded to take the print out there so i went there and gave my usb to take print out and it was a fact that i didnt find the board which shows the price for each print and usually we could find such kind of price written board in most of the shops.but still i thought that anyway this is a big shop even at the small shops in pappanamcode near our college the rate is 75paisa-1rs for laser print out.so i thought anyway the max price will be 1 or let it be 2. so i didnt ask the rate it was a great mistake that i regret.well after taking print out of 12 copies i asked wats the charge and she said it is 60rs!!!! actualyy i was dumbstruck!!!really i couldnt believe my ears i was expecting 12rs and could u imagine the difference……it is 5rs per print and i could never find any speciality in print from other that i took so i asked her wats this rate..??then she replied this is normal rate and u can go anywhere else and check it.than i said the rate in pappanamcode but they were not willing and they forcefully took the amoubt form me. then i decieded to say my complaint to the owner and when i approached a person in the account desk,who introduced himself as the owner and i said to him that the rate is not fair and u should change it then he behaved like a wild man..he became ferocious and said that it was my mistake that i didnt asked the price..i said yes its true i agree but its ur responsibility that u put up a board indicating this strange and rather cruelsome price. well the behaviour of that person was in fact sarcastic asking as if who are you to teach me business??
such kind of callous tradesman are pernicious to our society. so as far as iam concerned your media is one of the best in unearthing such kind of atrocities in our society.so i ve faith in ur media that the bitter experience that i had, should not come to anyone else. you can check in various shops giving laser print out they charge only 60ps,75ps ,1rs or maximum of 2rs that too in the rural areas.check in shops in pappanamcode,vellayambalam,peroorkada.but this shop is in the heart of city and just opposite to the secretriat and they are doing the worst business there.such kind of people may be there everywhere in front of our eyes but people never mind to react thats why they gets encouraged to do whatever they like. hope you will take appropiate action.
