om sai ram dated : 7th december 2013 to trai cc : the national consumer disputes redressal commission respected sirs/ madam, i take this opportunity to highlight how vodafone is cheating the public and eating away public money . i had taken 2 prepaid connections in november 2013 from raghuleela mall vodafone store in borivli. the numbers given to me were : 8879046834 and 8879046954 when i purchased the sim cards, i was told to “use” the sim cards within 90 days or else the card would be de-activated. no other information was given to me. i activated the number 8879046834 and requested the operator to activate the other number also 8879046954 but the operator refused to activate the second number. as i did not need the sim card immediately i kept the sim card with myself. now when i needed the sim card one month later, i tried to call up 117 to activate the card but could not do so. i called up 9820098200 and they informed me that the documents have not reached them and to go to the nearest vodafone center with the documents. this was possible since both the sim cards were purchased at the same time and rs.250/- was paid for each of the sim cards. i went to the chembur vodafone center. first the sales executive told me that the sim card should be activated within 2 days or else it would be de-activated. this was news to me since the borivli person did not inform me of this procedure. when i requested to speak to the manager, the manager informed me that we had to activate the sim card within 29 days. when i asked her why was i not informed about this there was no answer from her side. when i asked whether it was written on the sim card packet, she could not find the information. when i asked whether it was written on the pre-paid application form, again the time period for activation was not written. i requested them to transfer my rs.250/- to another card or issue me a new card. but they said this was not possible. my complaint is that the borivli person did not inform me about the time period for activation. neither it is written on the sim card packet. neither it is written on the pre-paid application form. nor they are refunding me my rs.250/- i sincerely request you to kindly intervene in this matter and stop the loot vodafone is making . thanking you yours truly haresh s narang mobile : 9323442384
