Agarwal Packers and Movers – Goods Destroyed Fire

1. I am an Army Officer and had booked my luggage through Agarwal Packers and Movers from Wellington (Tamil Nadu)to Jaipur. The CG No of the consignment is COMB002666. 2. At the last moment the dealer (Agarwal Packer and Mover) gave us a hired truck which had oversize dimensions (36 ft lenght) to which we protested. The dealer said due to high demand this was the only truck available, leaving us with no choice but to utilise the same (I being posted out from Wellington the move was bounded by time and hence, no delay was acceptable). I was given an assurance by Mr Sunil Sharma that no harm would come to the luggage as they use these trucks for other consingments also. 3. The truck due to its oversized dimensions touched an overhead HT wire and my goods caught fire. 4. I had also requested Agarwal Packers and movers that the truck be moved only from 20 Apr onwards when my insurance policy was effective but they moved the truck on 19 APr when the accident happened making my insurance null and void. 5. While, the truck was being loaded there was representative of Agarwal Packers and Movers stating that they don’t have enough personnel to handle the loading. Showing utter violation of the contract and exploiting my the last minute dependence on the packers and movers for shifting my household goods.

I want the Dealer i.e Agarwal Packers and movers to pay in full the damage as assessed by the independent surveyor report. Also I want them to compensate me for the mental harassment that I and my wife have gone through due to the unprofessional approach of Agarwal Packers and movers in this specific case.
