Air India – Pathetic Service – Baggage Handling wrong information

My name is Yash Kumar Agarwal, Indian Citizen but staying abroad (Australia and UK) for past 6 years. his is to bring to your notice the sad ordeal I can currently going through due to mis-handling and utter lack of customer service by Air India. I am not sure if you are the right person to address this but I dont know who to raise this with and hoping you can be of some help. I am a regular flyer of Air India (domestic and international) and I have a Silver Star Alliance member. I had a very bad and disturbing experience on Sunday – 21st September. I flew LONDON – DELHI – BANGALORE. When I checked in at London Heathrow, I asked the the person if the luggage will be checked in all the way through to Bangalore and he said “Yes, ofcourse” and didnt provide any further information. Like any other transit flight, I didnt care about checking for my luggage in Delhi and to my shock when I landed in Bangalore, my luggage was not there. The reason I was given by the Air India staff was I should have done the customs clearance at Delhi. I would have done it for sure if I knew I have to do it. I am here on for work for 4 days and do not have anything to wear for office. The Duty Manager said she will try her best to get my luggage by Tuesday, that is, 2 days. Today is end of day Tuesday and I have got nothing concrete.

1. I am in Bangalore without any stuff or clothes. Just my laptop which was my hand luggage. 2. Tormatised, frustrated with tension on how will I go to office. 3. Effected my work as I had to spend so much time in sorting things. I am here only for 4 days for work and its impacting my work and my performance. 4. My wife and 2 yrs son do not have anything to wear. They had to buy all the stuffs. Its was a big pain for them especially for the 2 yrs old baby. 5. Mental trauma for everyone. 6. Spend money unnecessarily.
