My Mother is undergoing treatment at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi and has been prescribed Herlcon Injections which she has to take for a year – one every three weeks. The MRP of Herclon (manufactured by Roche Products India Limited) is Rs. 75000/-. However the same is available with authorised dealers at around Rs.54000/- However the hospital does not permit to buy from Authorised dealer and insist on buying from the Hospital Pharmacy at MRP i.e. Rs.75000/-. This is clearly an unfair trade practice and abuse of the dominant position of the Hospital. This has been pointed out to the hospital but they refuse to even acknowledge the letter.
