Apollo Direct – car tyre got burst manufacturing defect

On 7th July my car tyre got burst from the sidewall while driving. Fortunately, it did not result in any casualty/damage, as the vehicle was in a very low speed. Had it been on the highway in high speed, one could imagine the repercussion of a tyre burst. On 8th July I gave a complaint on ‘Apollo Direct’ vide complaint no. 516323 for replacement of tyre and on 11th a service engineer inspected the tyre with the sole aim of rejecting the claim. The service engineer could not explain the exact situation/reason of the tyre burst, but said that it may have happened due to an impact on the side wall. How can there be an impact on the sidewall without leaving even a single scratch on the rim of the tyre or any damage to the tread area of the tyre. There is no sign of any impact on the sidewall. Apart from the burst, tyre is in excellent condition. I request an immediate replacement of tyre as it got burst only due to a manufacturing defect/fault. Also I would advise Apollo to focus on safety as a tyre burst could prove to be fatal.
