Asus Tablets / Laptop Not providing warranty support

For brand name Asus is not there, so I have selected Toshiba, but Actual Brand/company name is Asus -http://www.asus.com/in/) I have purchased a box packed Asus wireless router RT N 16 from Arun computers on 19/11/2012 with original invoice of 6150/- ( inclusive VAT) with warranty mentioned as 3 Yrs. Now device has stopped working, when I contacted the Asus Service Center, they are saying that device can not be repaired and they can offer a cash refund of 5100/-. which is almost 1000/- less than price I have paid. WHen I have purchased a genuine produce with original bill and all taxes paid, why Asus should not provide me warranty and fix/repair the device Or if not refund me my full price. what is the purpose of paying higher money and buying product with bill, when customers don’t get a warranty support. My device still has a 15 months of warranty period left.

my profession needs that I have to work from home on weekends & late night. Because of this I purchased Asus Wireless Router, so that I can get wireless connectivity at my home for my easier working. I bought Asus Router, which is much higher in price than other routers available in market, with an impression that I am buying a long lasting device. Now with a faulty device, I am not able to work from home and every time have to stay in office late night which effects my work-family time.
