Dell – Laptop Bad Quality not Repairable

7th August 2014 To: The Manager Customer Care Dell Dear Sir/Madam It is to bring to your attention that we bought a Dell laptop, model Inspiron 14z 5423, service tag CFQ6QV1 from Croma Surat on the 17th July, 2013 and have received unsatisfactory service. We are residents of Lesotho a country surrounded by South Africa. The laptop worked well up to May 2014, when all of a sudden its hard disk drive crashed. Thereafter, we sent it for repair to Delhi in June, during which it was still under the warranty period. Another problem arose, the date of opening of the laptop did not correspond to the date of sale on the receipt. This problem was sorted out and the laptop was being repaired at the Dell centre in New Delhi. We received the laptop back on the 22nd of July, but the computer has not been working ever since. Initially, it would not shut down and the r key had a problem and is not functioning properly. Thereafter, it would not even switch on and still does not switch on and cannot be accessed. When we tried to contact Dell about this, they informed us that as the laptop is no longer under the warranty period, we will have to pay charges for any repairs. Hence there are two issues: 1) The goods sold to us is of extremely bad quality and even the service provided by you was of extremely poor quality as neither the problem was resolved, nor further service was provided by you to rectify your mistake (saling a poor quality goods to me) 2) The one year warranty should expire after one year from the date of purchase, however we were told that the laptop has been opended before the sale and hence the warranty has expired. That is wrong doing of your agent need to be felt by me. You are requested to take up the case as the laptop has not been repaired up to its standards when it was under its warranty period. Therefore, you are requested to please repair the laptop as per quality the Dell laptop works or replace with a quality laptop. We had a great believe and feedback from my friends and family about the Dell and hence purchased the Dell Laptop, however my experince of purchasing a Dell laptop is pathetic as of now. We hope and wish you will come upto the mark, what we have heard about you in past. Enclosed is the receipt of the sale as well as the repair voucher for your kind reference.
