EVOK Furniture Store – Smaller Size + Damaged product

I had bought a dinning table set from Evok furniture store, Bangalore, J.P. Nagar (Store ID: 2011) on 29-06-2014. They said the product will be delivered in 10 days as it comes from different place. I made full payment for the purchase upfront with the booking vide my invoice number 1016SO/14-15/000313. We purchased this product based on their mentioned specification which is 4*3 (feet). There was no demo piece available so they shown us the product in the poster. The product got delivered within 2 days. My father was present at the time of delivery and he found that the two of the chairs were damaged. The delivery people said that log a complaint to the customer care they will replace the same. They took the sign from my father and went away. After that we noticed that the table looks very small. So we took the measurement and found that it is 3.9 * 2.8 (feet). Which is quite small and not at all matching with their specification. After many try I was able to talk to the store manager named Dhananjay.

I briefed him about the situation and he totally denied with the fact that his people told me that the size would be 4*3 (feet). So I demanded to take the dinning set back and return our money, on which he said there is not return we will issue credit note. I told him either you deliver the right product or return my money on which he asked me to log complaint on customer care. Fine I logged a complaint from where I got a number as “HDP_HSIL_366884”. There was no response after the complaint, So after few days I only contacted the customer care for the status. I came to know from customer care as we cant do anything talk to store manager. I again spoke to store manager Dhananjay, after few seconds Dhananjay started sounding very rude and he asked me to collect my money from the store person (staffId: Sobang2). Now this I was not expected from the employee of Hindware, so pathetic. I took his manager number who’s name is Kiran. I spoke to Kiran and made him aware of the situation. After so many conversation with Kiran I realize nothing is working here so I wrote a written complaint to “evokecare@hindware.co.in” on 08-July-2014. I got a reply on 09-July-2014 from Sanchai that Mr Rajesh Babu will get in touch with me within next 24 working hours. I waited for more than 48 hrs no one contacted me. I replied on the same mail, but from there also no reply. Finally, I called customer care and with great effort I got Rajesh number. I contacted him and explained entire situation to him. He said he will contact me once he will look into the matter. I again waited for few days, contacted him and came to know as so far no progress. This happened many times and after that he stopped picking up the phone. What a shameful behaviour from these employees of Hindware. On 21-July-2014 I again replied back on the mail chain with “evokecare@hindware.co.in” to know the progress and also to get the explanation as why my complaint number “HDP_HSIL_366884” was closed without resolution and also without notifying the customer.

Till now no reply on this. Lastly I again contacted Kiran with whom after many discussion he promised that my refund is in progress and I will get the refund by check. On 19-Aug-2014 I again replied back on the same mail chain with “evokecare@hindware.co.in” to know the progress and there was no reply. After waiting for many days when I did not get any update I called Kiran to know the status. He assured me that check is in accounts department and it will processed in some days. This statement he gave me in every conversation for more than a month and on 25-Aug-2014 he told me that the refund will not be given. He said I cant do anything contact Sanchai. Now nearly 2 months are over and I have still not got my refund back. The dining table with two damaged chair is lying in corner of my house. After realising that they are not replying on mail and only talking over phone, I have recorded all the conversation which I had with Kiran. This is serious case of cheating and fraud being done by a company with Brands like Hindware. Please help me get my money back from the cheats as I am absolutely not interested in doing any business with this company. Note: They suggested me to buy some other dinning table with different size from Evok. I have made it clear to them as I can’t go for bigger size because of size constraint. Thanks Nilabh Sagar
