Extremely dissatisfied customer services – Vodafone

Vodafone no. 9820105127 and customer care reference no’s: 742536333 & 742524465. I am currently overseas, since Sunday, 20 October 2013 and using a local SIM card. I had deactivated all data access or download options for apps on my mobile phone and barred incoming calls. I have only sent 4 sms’s from my mobile and have not made any international calls during roaming. I would like to bring the following details to your attention: 1) On 24 October 2013 at 19:43, I received an e-mail from Usage Intimation1(SSC), Vodafone India stating the following: “Your Credit limit is Rs. 29300 and your current usage (billed + unbilled) is Rs. 62312 (approx.). Please make an interim payment of Rs. 62312 to enjoy continuous services. Kindly ignore if already paid.” 2) On 23 October 2013 at 19:31, I received an e-mail from Usage Intimation1(SSC), Vodafone India stating the following: “Your Credit limit is Rs. 29300 and your current usage (billed + unbilled) is Rs. 24654 (approx.). Please make an interim payment of Rs. 24654 to enjoy continuous services. Kindly ignore if already paid.” 3) On 22 October 2013 at 19:35, I received an e-mail from High Usage Intimation (SSC-NE), Vodafone India stating the following: “We would like to bring to your notice that we have observed high data usage on your account. Based on our estimate, the approximate usage is 75.38 MB in the last 24 hrs. To prevent any misuse, your GPRS services have been temporarily restricted. You may kindly get in touch with our customer care (111 from your mobile phone if you are in Mumbai Or +919820098200 if you are roaming) for more details.” Based on the abovementioned facts, it is clearly evident there is an error with the unbilled amount and data download figures. Especially with the significant percentage difference of 60.43% aggregating to Rs. 37,658 between 23 October 2013 (Rs. 24,654) and 24 October 2013 (Rs. 62,312). How can this be possible, when my mobile no. 9820105127 was not even in use? When I called the Customer Care no. +919820098200 today, 24 October 2013 at 20:30 and spoke to your Supervisor, Mr Abhijit Sawant and Executive, Salim, I was informed my bill amount as at 18 October 2013 is Rs. 3,435.56. I have been using this Vodafone no. for the last 5 years and if you take a look at the trend, I have not downloaded such significant amount of data within a day! The customer should not be held responsible for any erroneous system assumptions/estimations or miscalculations or misuse or negligence from the service provider’s end! Furthermore, I had sent across an e-mail to corporate.assist@vodafone.com on 23 October 2013 to date – instructing my Vodafone no. 9820105127 to be discontinued with immediate effect.

There have been several e-mails coming back and forth, however, without any effective solution. Not to mention the Customer Care services are extremely poor, inadequate and unprofessional!!! I would like to have this issue resolved as soon as possible and have the final unbilled/invoice amount for the period 19 October 2013 to 24 October 2013 sent across to my e-mail id: rishi.2k3@gmail.com for payment after due diligence, investigations and consideration of the above points, I truly expect great professionalism and accountability from Vodafone. I look forward to your continued support and goodwill in order to enable a smooth closure of this query. Please contact me on my e-mail. Thanking you in advance for your cooperation. Kind regards, Rishi
