Failure of Mediclaim Policy due to NEGLIGENCE of BANK

UNDERSIGNED HAD A ‘MEDICARE’ POLICY, LAUNCHED AS A JOINT VENTURE BETWEEN ‘UCO BANK’ & ‘NATIONAL INSURANCE’, ENFORCED FROM JANUARY-2008. ANNUAL PREMIUM OF THE POLICY, FOR THE NEXT YEAR (JAN’2009)WAS AUTOMATICALLY DEBITED FROM MY SAVINGS BANK ACCOUNT, BEING MAINTAINED WITH THE BANK (AS A PART OF SERVICE, AS DESCRIBED DURING ENFORCEMENT OF THE POLICY). SURPRISINGLY, THE CURRENT YEAR’S PREMIUM (DUE IN JANUARY’2010), WAS NOT DEBITED IN TIME, RESULTING IN DISCONTINUATION OF THE POLICY. THE MATTER WAS NOT EVEN BROUGHT TO MY NOTICE BY THE BANK, RESULTING IN HUMILIATION AS WELL AS ‘FINANCIAL LOSS’ TO A GREAT EXTENT. IT ALSO RENDERED A HIGH RISK ON LIFE DUE TO DISCONTINUITY OF ‘MEDICLAIM’ SERVICES.
FOR YOUR INFORMATION, MY BANKER IS ‘ UNITED COMMERCIAL BANK’, BRANCH : SARAT BOSE ROAD, KOLKATA – 700029. I WOULD APPRECIATE, IF YOU CAN HELP ME TO RECOVER MY ‘EARLIER PAID UP PREMIUM AMMOUNT ALONG WITH INTEREST, FROM THE BANK.
