With reference to the above, I had purchased a rechargeable lantern of Pigeon Brand on 29/05/2008 from Their authorized dealer in Calicut, M/s Meena Electric Stores, S. M Street, Calicut, which had 6 months of warranty

But within 5 months of usage, the product started discharging quickly and was unable to perform for not more than 10 minutes. Hence I had given the unit to M/s Meena Electric stores for necessary action on 18/11/2008. We had received the product on 10/12/2008 from the dealer.

But while using the same, the unit started behaving abnormally and the charge was discharged in 5 minutes time and I came to know that the product was not repaired and returned to us as it was given.

Again I had taken the unit to the dealer on 30/12/2008 and explained the problem.. But on 23/01/2009, I got a call from the dealer teling that the battery is faulty and the same can be changed on chargeable basis as the warranty period was over. I had collected the lantern on 31/1/2009 from their authorized service agent, M/s Kitchennet, Vyapara bhavan, Calicut and tried to explain my problem to them. But I had not received any help or respite from them as they washed their hands from the problem stating the guarrenty period was over and the delay in delivery, and other problems attributing to the dealer.

I would like to inform you that, I am not accountable to any of their internal problems like delay in servicing, delay in delivery after repair of the product and I was totally dissatisfied with product and after sale services.

I would like to inform you that the unit was given for repair in the warranty period and the same was returned to me with out any repair after 23 days which caused the exhaustion of the warranty period.

Hence I would like you to help me to change the battery of the product or change the product itself with out causing any cost implication to me and compensate me suitably.

Your early action in this regards will be highly appreciated
