Flipkart Order Cancelled, No Refund

I had placed an order for a Samsung phone charger on 2nd October 2014 (OD100911110469256800). The Order was confirmed via email and money was deducted from my account at that very instant. I was hoping that I would receive the charger in 3-4 days as I knew that Flipkart usually delivers quickly. But to my sheer disappointment, after two days on 4th October 2014, I received an SMS that my order has been cancelled and refund initiated. This SMS was unexpected as I had not cancelled the order. There was no disclaimer or note on the landing page of the product stating that the product was not in stock or that the seller was in the process of procuring it. I received an email from Flipkart on 4th October stating that “due to high demand for this item and in order to provide all customers an equal opportunity to avail this great deal we had to cancel the items in your order”. When I called up Flipkart regarding this order, customer service guy said that the seller was in the process of procuring the order and because he could not procure the order the item was cancelled “by the seller”. They kept giving excuses that they are not responsible for the seller’s action, have made note of the seller, that I should place a fresh order and they would hopefully deliver without any hitches. Since this was not a valid argument, I demanded an escalation of the complaint. But I have spoken to four different CC guys offering the same set of excuses. Placing a complaint on their website also did not yield any response. They have now even even taken down the details of this particular order my order page @flipkart. Flipkart has tried to offer me a discount of 10% on my next purchase of charger or Rs 150 in my Flipkart wallet. Needless to say this compensation works better for them than me since I will have to place another order with them. Going through a few complaints I realize that Flipkart has been using this same modus operandi with a lot of their customers. My last interaction with Flipkart CC was on 10th November after which they have neither communicated nor apologised.

I demand a letter from Flipkart accepting their mistake and apologizing for the same. And ensuring that this malpractice of fleecing customers under the garb of online marketplace is stopped. Also, since they are so keen to compensate me with Rs 150 in my Flipkart wallet, I demand to be compensated for my time, effort and agony.
