Fraudulent Transaction on SBI Card – Review

Rs. 4950 has been charged to my SBI Credit Card account as Airtel Payment Billdesk on April 14, 2014. I did not make any payment to Airtel. I received a call from SBI Card representative for increasing my limit and sending a new card. I was also told that I had accumulated points and hence cash or other offers were available. I refused the cash offer and chose to utilise the money through my SBI Credit Card account. I had replied to an email sent by the SBI Card stating the same. Earlier, bonus points have been converted into gift offers and I have received a Lotto Shoe for bonus points. But the SBI Credit Card has closed the dispute without any redress. So, I have lost Rs. 4950 with no answers.

I lost Rs. 4950 without buying anything. Even now I receive calls, emails, sms from SBI Card address. SBI card says that the transaction for Rs. 4950 is valid since it was done in a secure environment. I donot know how many people have been cheated. I was told that due to accrual of bonus points I might get a credit of Rs. 4950 to buy things. The break up was 950 for the month 1, 2000 for month 2 and 2000 for month 3. I still have the sms and emails that I have received in the name of SBI Card. I get regular calls for increase in cash limit or credit limit. I want to know what steps SBI Credt Card has taken to protect customers and whether any gang is deliberately defrauding gullible people. I refused 100 times but fell for the scheme once.

SBI Credit Card is conveniently shifting the blame on to me. But according to RBI, SBI Card should have sent me a secret pin and a card with electronic chip which I have not received. Hence, SBI Card needs to take more steps. I was cheated on behalf of SBI Card and lost Rs. 4950. They have to trace the transaction and prosecute the people involved in the theft. I also need my money reimbursed.
