When the government had insisted to link Adhar Cards to the LPG connections, I had taken my Adhar Card to the Distributor for linking. My Adhar card has two extra names as per my birth certificate where as I use only ‘Ferdinando dos Reis Falcão’, and the same as was in my LPG connection. The Distributor insisted that the name should be changed as per the Adhar card and so I produced my Divergency Certificate obtained decades back because all my certificates too were in just that one name. Subsequently, due to Supreme Court Order, the government had to make the linking of Adhar card not compulsory. Now, a week back the distributor has called up stating my documents with the new name have arrived and that I have to pay a sum of Rs. 170/- for changing the name. I told them that I had not asked for the change as the names are same except that the Adhar card had two extra names. They insist that I take the changed name document and even threatened that I will not get refill henceforth.
