HDFC Standard Life Insurance – Mis-selling non reimbursment of medi-claim

I John Paul Russel Costa, had purchased a mediclaim policy for my father and mother from HDFC Standard Life Insurance Company Limited bearing policy number 90031306. The executives who sold the policy were Debasish Das & Abhishek Banerjee employees of HDFC Bank Ltd, New Market Branch. They had mislead me in purchasing the claim as it was specified by them that policy covers full cashless or reimbursement once a medical test is conducted by the HDFC Standard Life Insurance Company Limited and after the fitness certificate is issued by the Doctors by them they will issue a claim policy. The test were conducted at Bhagirathi Neotia Woman & Child Care Centre, 2, Rawdon Street, Kolkata 700 017 on 6th May 2014. After completion of the health check up of my father Mr.Titus Costa, the HDFC Standard Life Insurance Company Limited issued a policy bearing no 90031306 risk commencement date 12th May 2014 on the fitness report of the insured person as fit with no prior medical history or per-existing condition and deemed as fit. On 12th my father Mr.Titus Costa developed an acute left MCA infarct and he was admitted in Institute of Neourosciences Kolkata on the same day. I had submitted the necessary documents for the cashless claim but HDFC Standard Life Insurance Company Limited declined the claim citing a per-existing condition and wait period of 30days is not completed even though both of the clause does not hold substantial as they had already conducted a medical test on my Father Mr.Titus Costa and no case of hypertension was recorded or any other pre-exisitng condition and he was admitted on the 32nd day from the date of risk commencement that means the wait period cited was also baseless. Even though i paid the money from my pocket and discharged my father and also sent the original bills for reimbursement and spoke to the immediate boss of Debasish Das, Miss.Astha Bhatt. She assured me that the reimbursement will be done surely and asked me to submit all my documents in original. Now after two months Miss.Astha Bhatt called me to convey the message that the claim had been rejected due to the same reason of pre-existing condition. After i checked my document of discharged certificate there was a typo error of citing the patient having a condition 2½ months back but on verifying with the hospital they acknowledged the same of the mistake. I Have been mentally and physically harassed with this claim where i provided all necessary document as they desired but at the end rejected my claim citing baseless reasons.

Total hospitalization reimbursement should be done on immediate basis or equivalent compensation for mental harassment and delay in executing the reimbursement process
