I bought HP cartridge ink(Order Id 1207444786) for Rs 509 whereas the MRP mentioned on the pack is Rs.499. This is not the first time this has happened. Last time I bought Laptop Screen (Order Id – 910344318 & 907467741). In the same case, I bought the screen protector for Rs 180 whereas the MRP was at Rs 150. When I registered a complaint with them I just got harassed. They had a “brilliant” reply – Its their system fault as it varies the price of the product based on availability and demand. I warned them about the implications of not fixing a price ceiling as the same had crossed the MRP in my case. I barely demanded an “apology” but they acted out vehemently against same. No sign of remorse or regret. And apparently they didnt even care to tweak their system to avoid the same error in future. The same product (HP ink cartridge) is now being sold at Rs. 469. This underscores the current position. If you look at my single case then the my financial loss is meager – Rs. 90 in previous case and Rs. 10 in the present case. But the implications are tremendous. They claim to have sold millions of products online and there might be many other innocent and unsuspecting buyers who might have been overcharged at the hands of their system. A system that they refuse to tweak or alter to make necessary changes even after repeated warnings. And to ice the caking they refuse to apologize for the error! The act with impunity as if they are immune to the law of the land. This is India, and people generally care about reporting such issues to avoid loss of time in dealing with them. But now that I have faced the same issue twice – the probability of which mathematically is highly neglect-able – I feel the situation does warrants a retaliation. They seriously need to be disciplined and taught to act responsibly.

I want them to be fined or penalized – whatever the standard legal recourse is. I believe people need to sensitized to come forward as
