HP PAVILION G6 2016TX Web cam Detection Hardware Issue

Mine is a long story, please read patiently and answer from (a) to (e) at the bottom of this post: 1. I bought HP PAVILION G6 2016TX online from www.flipkart.com, dated November 22, 2012. Serial number is 5CD2244T5G, Product number- B3H81PA#ACJ. It came with windows 7 and I immediately purchased & upgraded it to Windows 8. I did not created any back up or similar stuff. And my laptop became a windows 8 pc, the same day it was delivered to me. 2. Since then, I mean from the first day itself, Bluetooth never ever worked! Yes, with the recommended drivers suggested by HP Chat support, it didn’t helped. Well this is not my actual complain. 3. It started to overheat, and thanks to HP, they came and replaced its motherboard in April, 2013. Bluetooth was unaffected and it still chose to remain malfunctioned. 4. Now, the Webcam issue debuts. My webcam, sometime in last week of April- first week of May, started to trouble me. I was on Skype and tried to video call my friend, SKYPE RESPONDED AS, SKYPE CAN’T DETECT ANY WEBCAM. Okay. I am a freelancer and windows phone app developer. I use oDesk team application to bill my client. oDesk Team application takes my photo once in every 10 minute interval. It responded “There was a problem with the camera ‘HP Webcam- 50’. Please make sure you have installed the latest camera drivers.”

I went on to appwiz.cpl and uninstalled Cyberlink YouCam driver. Restarted my pc. Installed the latest version, restarted my pc again. And camera was working back again. 5. Within a few day, problem revisited. I followed same step and it was working back. 6. In few days, it happened again. I followed same step. BUT IT DID NOT WORKED AGAIN. I contacted HP Chat support, they gave me Cyberlink you cam driver for HP Pavilion g6-2137tx Notebook PC. And luckily it worked. 7. After few days, it happened again. I followed above step but NO LUCK. I contacted HP CHAT SUPPORT AND INFORMED THEM “THAT MY WEBCAM IS WORKING ON RANDOM OCASSIONS, which is IT IS NOT WORKING NOW. IT MAY OR MAY NOT WORK IN NEXT REBOOT. HP SUPPORT gave me the same link to download Cyberlink you cam for HP Pavilion g6-2137tx Notebook PC. I CLEARLY ASKED THEM, WHY IS THAT YOU GUYS ARE NOT PROVIDING THIS DRIVER FOR PAVILION G6 2016-TX. And they were clueless and said that it will work for this model too. 8. Few days later, it stopped working again. I searched on HP India website. HP responded, “We were unable to verify your product” and it showed my PC as “Serial Number: 5CD2310TCJ Product Number: C0N00PA”. 9. I decided to get back to HP CHAT SUPPORT. And they suggested same process as I have mentioned above. WELL, BY THIS TIME MERE UNINSTALLING AND INSTALLING OF DRIVER STOPPED YIELDING POSITIVE RESULT. As I have said above that, my webcam is now working on random occasions, i.e. it is not working now. It may or may not work in next reboot. And my webcam started to work once in 3-4 days, that too without reinstalling-installing process

I am a freelancer and windows phone app developer. I remain online on Skype and use oDesk team application to bill my client. oDesk Team application takes my photo once at every 10 minute interval, randomly. WITHOUT HP WEBCAM, I CANNOT CHARGE TO MY CLIENT IN A LEGAL WAY. I have already lost a $84/ week contract that was supposed to run for 6 months

I look forward to complete refund. I just don’t want to and will never use HP again! I cannot believe your engineer technician. (1) Very first time (March- 2013), HP technician in bangalore, came with a faulty motherboard. He fitted it and then took it back immediately, because laptop was not charging. (2) Second instance, in Dhanbad/ Jharkhand, HP Technician came, blabbed much and result was that my display monitor stopped working for 2 days.
