I purchased a brand new HTS Desire SV phone from Flipkart an year ago(1st May 2013) for INR 20,000. The phone was running smoothly except for some known issue of whatsapp. It happened a few days ago that my phone went off with no reason. I thought it got drained so supplied power but did not help. I waited for some hours so that it might help but it did not. I went to service center in pune(Camp) and they said it has suffered power IC failure. I wonder how a phone with only one year life can fail and that too when it did not go any manual attacks. Now they are asking me to change the motherboard which costs almost around 8000.

My phone was dead for almost a day period. I had to buy an alternate so that I could stay connected. It was an over head in expense. And most importantly, it caused trauma in looking out for repairing options.

The phone should not have underwent any problem when no external attack was made. Also, it happened only a few days after its warranty has passed. It would be fair enough if a month period is considered as free service even when warranty has passed.
