I got a salary account from ICICI, plus a Demat account, in September 2013. Yesterday, I got debited of amount 500, and found out that it was annual maintenance charges for the Demat account. I remember that the bank representative told me you account is free of maintenance charges if the transaction value is below 2 lakhs. Today, when I called their customer care, they’re saying that I needed to apply for ‘basic demat banking account’, and submitted a form for it. This was never told to me while account opening.

I want refund of 500 rupess, plus 5000 rupees more, due to the mental distress I underwent, and also for the time wasted to go to bank and close the account.
