ICICI Lombard Late Issue of Travel Insurance

The ICICI Lombard policy was bought on 16/01/2015 for travel from 18/01/2015 to 20/01/2015. The insurance company initially refused to acknowledge receiving payment and only issued the insurance on 23/01/2015 3 days after my return from the travel. I can forward the email with policy sent to me on the date.

I feel it is a regular practice since I had a similar issue earlier too. That time they refunded the money. But they need to be warned and made to compensate something for all the follow ups I have made after which only they accepted that I had bought the policy, post my return. how could I prove my insurance in case I needed any claim then? They charged me the money but did not issue the policy till end of my journey. This was an expired policy. I have all emails to support my facts.
