Indian Railways – Theft in A/C 2nd Class

We were traveling from Sealdah to Falakata in the Uttar Banga express on 17.05.2014. we boarded the train at 7.30 p.m.. Our coach no is A1 and our seat no is 5 and 6. At around 1.30 to 2.20 a.m. probably near Malda Town station we found our big, black travel bag was stolen. There was neither any attendant nor any GRPF in the train. We told the incident to the then present T.T. named Ved Prakash. He did not have any form for lodging complaints. Then in N.G.P another T.T.I. named Amiya Bhusan Barman helped us with the form and other necessary details. He helped us to lodge the written complaint in the New Coach Behar station and the F.I.R. number is 495. Till now we did not get any assistance from the railway department. our bag contained more than 40,000 rupees valuable things. It is not expected that luggage was theft from two tier Ac and no attendant and GRPF was there to do their duties. It is really shameful for the pathetic service in two tier AC and nobody really bothered or helped after this big loss. Please look at this matter and compensate us as early as possible. We have all the valid journey and complain documents that is attached here with.

We want IRCTC (Indian Railway) to compensate for the unexpected loss that we had met.We want the consumer forum to consider our case with sympathy and take quick action against it.
