IRCTC – Extra charges deducted consumer’s payment gateway.

As Indian railway changed his rule regarding travel fare, now they are rounding off fare amount in multiple of 5. But to rounding off they are increasing current fare by INR 1 to INR 4.99 This is not a consumer friendly rule. If they want to round off the amount they should use the nearest amount which is in multiple of 5. For example if current fare is INR 11.00 then they are taking 15.00, but they should take 10.00. Fare amount which is larger than 12.50, they can charge 15.00. ______________________________ Apart from this, they are charging same round-off for online transactions also. However in online transactions there is no problem of changed money. For example: While booking ticket online if fare is 11.09, then they can take the same amount from consumer’s payment gateway. Then why they are looting consumer? And respected Indian government has a provision of coins of INR 0.50, 1.00, and 2.00. Then how any firm/organization/person can make such a rule, which is denying to accept any of Indian currency? In my opinion this is like irrespective behavior of Indian currency. _____________ See an example (from indianrail.gov.in) _____________ Train Number Train Name Date (DD-MM-YYYY) Source Station Destination Station 54075 SPC DELHI PASS 30-12-2013 BAREILLY GHAZIABAD Train Type Distance (kms) ORDINARY 232 Fare/Charges Class — Sleeper Base Fare 82 Reservation Charges 20 Superfast Charges 0 Other Charges 0 Total Amount 105 ____________________________________ 82+20 is 102, how hey can charge 105?

Indian railway should charge only that amount which is legal to services used by any consumer (and plus tax) Indian railway should not take extra money which can not be accounted in respect to any service/tax used by consumer. Indian railway should act like an Indian organization, which can not increase amount of services, just because taking/giving coins of respected Indian currency.
