LG LCD TV – display problem part is not available

Sir/ Mam, We had taken a LG LCD Television on 14/03/2010 from “Kohinoor Tele Video”, Andheri (W), Mumbai for Rs. 28900 After getting the delivery, LG Company representative came and installed it. He also gave us information for Extended Comprehensive Warranty / AMC for additional 4 yrs for Rs. 8824 inclusive of all taxes, to which we agreed and made payment by cheque. We received AMC contract/Invoice dated 20/03/2010 via courier. Now the problem is that before about 3.5 months, we complained to LG that there was some problem in the TV display to which a LG Service Center person inspected and confirmed that the DISPLAY PANEL is faulty and needs to be replaced and will be done in a weeks time. When asked its price, he told actual price is Rs. 14500, but will be done free of charge as we have AMC. Around 10 days or more passed, there was no communication. So i again launched the complaint with LG toll free no. I got a call from LG Service Centre the very next day saying that the part is not available and only thing we can do is re-imburse money as per depreciation terms of the TV invoice amount which makes around Rs. 15500/- I purchased it for Rs. 28900 and paid Rs. 8824 for AMC. Total Rs. 37724 and i get only Rs. 15500? I do not agree with this. As per AMC terms, no where is written that in case the part is not available, depreciation will be charged and i will get the balance amount, etc… It is their duty to make good the faulty part. Whatever amount they told me i.e Rs. 15500/- they deney to give in writing also. What kind of professionalism is this? I told then that if they do not coperate, i will approach the Consumer Court, which they replied that i am free to do so. Means they do not fear of consumer court. Helpless i worte a letter to Consumer Guidance – Bandra (E) about this matter and sent a copy to LG as well. After writting a letter to Conumer Court, we had received a telephonic call after a week or so from LG saying to finish the matter by taking money. Mr. Sachin from LG called us saying that he has received permission from his company authorities to pay us 75% of the Invoice amount of the Television which makes to around Rs. 21,000/- to which i deneyed. Money is not my concern. I want the product fully functional. I want my television to be repaired. If they say they do not have the part, they have to replace the entire television with the model mataching or similar to mine with all the features of existing model. Pls look into this matter and do the needful as soon as possible. As it is its been approx 4 months we are having hassels viewing the television.
