Micromax – Faulty Batary ,USB CableExtremely Poor Service and Denial of Product warranty

Problems: Swollen Battery, Faulty USB Cable, Headset and Audio Jack, Extremely Poor Service and Denial of Product warranty Sir, I purchased Micromax Canvas HD A116 (IMEI No. 911304254713765,911304255223764) on 28th June, 2013 using Flipkart. The product received has been far below standard quality and I have had been facing various problems at regular intervals during this period for which I have had to visit Micromax service centres (Azadpur as well as Nirman Vihar) numerous number of times. Even most of such visits have also been in vain as I was turned down and asked to return back stating reasons such as “Today servers are down. Visit on Monday”, “There’s some software problem going on. Check after few days. You can call on these numbers to enquire if the things are working or not”(These numbers rarely work) etc Sir, I am a student of 4th year IIT Delhi and I am at a very crucial juncture in my career where I need to be focusing more on my studies but unfortunately I have been forced to be running around their service centres. I have been running around for some time now for the problem of a faulty audio jack too. But the biggest problem which I had to now face is of battery. My phone has been giving very low battery backup for few months now. For which I have visited Service centres to no avail. About a month ago too at Nirman Vihar centre, I was asked to sit for about 2 hours just to get me a job sheet and was told that even after you get this, you will have to leave your battery for at least 10 days and then you will be informed. Sir, I am a student and I live in a hostel. It’s very difficult to manage without a phone. And due to this reason, I didn’t follow up then. But now when I realized about a week ago that the battery was swollen too and the back up was unbearably low (2 hours when moderately used), I asked my brother to visit Azadpur Service centre to get it checked. He visited on 27th Dec of which job sheet’s image is attached. Though they admitted there that warranty is officially upto 28 December (1 year warranty for phone and 6 months for phone accessories like battery, Hands free (headset) and USB cable), they refused to acknowledge that the phone will be considered in warranty reasoning that warranty period always lasts only till a day before the end of six month period ( according to them it ended on 26 Dec). The logic was lame and it was only a gesture which indicated denial to my consumer rights. They also came up with an excuse that the swollen battery will not be considered in warranty and you are unlucky if you got one.

I ask for a completely new handset with an year warranty and a relief of Rs 5000 for the mental tortures I have been through. At minimum, if the aforementioned Brand totally refuses; at least total repairs (including new battery, new headset , new Usb cable and the audio jack problem) and the relief money (Rs 5000) should be provided.
