Dear Sir/Madam, This is to state that I had booked for a Megacab taxi over phone on 19.08 13 for 26.08.13 from my residence at Madhyamgram to Howrah Station. I had asked for the car to come at 5.15 am as I had Janshatabdi Express to cathch which is scheduled to depart at 6.20 am. The booking number was KOL 0016 . When I did not get an sms confirming the driver’s details and the car number I again called up the Megacab Call Center at 4.40 am and I was assured that the car shall be reaching within the next few minutes and the details would be send shortly. Again when the details did not come I called them up at 5.00 am and again I was told the same thing. I was also told that the car was within the 5 kms radius from my house and I had nothing to worry. Further when non of the details came I again called them at 5.10 am and then they told me that car was not available and I had to make my own arrangement. All the times my call was attende by one Mr Raja. Then when I could not get a taxi I went outside and managed to get a private car who dropped me to Howrah Station for Rs. 1,000. Further during the day when I called up Megacabs to lodge a complaint I was given a e mail id where I could lodge my complaint and that it would be redressed soon. I send the mail on 26th morning itself and when no replies came I again forwarded the same on 28th. But till date I have not recieved any redressal. I had also mentioned that I would be approaching consumer court if not addressed properly. The validity of my statements can be authenticated from the call records of Megacabs on the mentioned dates. I hereby approach you for a compensation of Rs. 1,000 for the fare and Rs. 5,000 towards the mental agony and the systematic lies that I was conveyed by Megacabs. An exemplary punishment may be inflicted on them so that they shall not play these sorts of un professional acts with any customer henceforth.
