Samsung split AC – No service for defective part

I had purchased a split AC (model # AS182BPENSTL) in November 2012 but it was installed in March 2013 as we were remodelling the house. This AC was installed in my living room and was used sparingly. However, when we switched it on the next season, in April 2014, there was no cooling. This was not expected from a brand of such repute. I called up their service number and even sent a mail through their website. There was no response, not even any acknowledgement for the mail. Finally, I got a visit on May 24 but nothing was done. I called up again. The service personnel visited again and said a part was defective and needed to be changed. He gave an estimate of INR 2200. This was unfair that the part had a life of only one season, and we debated over this. Later, we had to agree to pay as there was no other option, and I called the customer care desk again on June 5, asking them to send the personnel with the said part as it was peak summers and we did not want to waste any more time. A different service engineer visited, checked the AC again and repeated that a part had to be changed and gave an estimate of INR 2200. We agreed again. He said he would get the part the next day, but then disappeared after that. On June 12, I called up the service desk again, but was told that my earlier complaint has been closed with the service engineer’s comment that there was no problem with the AC. The help desk person also said that my complaint was lodged on May 30, though I have the service engineer’s signed note of May 24. The executive, Rishabh, asked me to register a new complaint, for which he transferred my call somewhere, and there was no response. This was strange as registering complaints was his duty. I didn’t give up and called again. Though I was frustrated by then, I explained the entire case again. (Ref No. 8447323178). The executive promised that he would arrange a visit in the next 24 hours with the part. There was a visit, but the service engineer could not rectify the problem even though he had got the part. He left saying he would get this done by next day. When we didn’t hear from anyone for the next three days, I escalated the issue to their CEO desk through their website. Got a call after a day that they will get it done. Two months of peak summer have gone without AC. Moreover, as this was installed in the living room, this has led to many embarrassing situations when guests come over. Looks like when it’s rectified, winters will set in, and then we will have to lose the one-month warranty period again! Regards, Deepshikha Seth 9811996xxx

We want that the AC be rectified and a compensation for the delay. We have faced many embarrassing situations as this new AC was not working in the living room.
