am an NRI now residing at Muscat Oman . I have some serious problem with my Housing Loan taken from State Bank of India (Ponganadu branch, (Kollam District ).ACC No : 30930549131. I have noticed that they have calculated my interest rate which is not correlating with my arrangement letter . I pointed out this issue with the branch manager with all calculations . First of all the branch manager’s approach was very bad . When me and my wife went to see him and briefed about the issue , the manager told us that he don’t have the time to look in this matter and if needed he can forward this to the concern department . Then he told me that he will update once he get the report from the concern department . I am keeping on sending mails asking for updates and he never reply’s on time . Some time he reply with vague answers . Then I reported this issue to the Regional Manager(Kollam) Mr Murugan and also CC to the SBI GM Customer service . He used to say that they will reply to me soon .. but nothing happened . Now I am at a position where I need to know the right procedure to proceed in order to tackle this case . I want the bank to go through it and revise the outstanding balance and if I am wrong I want them to produce me their statement that clearly shows where I went wrong in my calculations . They have to prove me that they are taking the interest rate based up on my arrangement letter / agreement letter . I am repaying the installment without any dues and in fact I am paying more than what I am supposed to. All I was asking was the clarification with proof and they are not giving any clarification about their calculations . Just an one or two line reply once in a blue moon . I don’t want that . I need clear answer with proof . They are saying that it’s the system that generates the interest rate !!! Whatever it is they are supposed to take the interest rate based up on my arrangement letter .
