I ordered a Panasonic 32inch TV on Snapdeal.com during their Diwali sale, on the morning of 20th of October. AFter place an order online, I checked with a customer representative on the phone, because I found that certain features of this product were different from what the manufacturer was offering(I had taken a demo of the TV in a panasonic showroom). The representative confirmed to me that the differences existed, and so I asked that the product be cancelled. I was assured a refund would be immediately issued and a cancellation request taken. The rep told me, however, that his system was down and he was unable to give me a confirmation number but the cancellation would go through first thing next morning. Two hours after my cancellation, I got an email saying that the product was ready to be shipped and cannot be cancelled. I contacted Snapdeal the next day, and they explained that they were unable to stop the shipment for it had gone through immediately! So, they asked me to return the product on arrival and thus get my refund. I was assured the product would arrive before 27th of October as it had shown as shipped by 20th of October (please see snapdeal1. pdf attached). I waited until 29th of October, but there was no shipment confirmation or waybill number or any contact sent. So I contacted snapdeal again, they told me that the shipment was on its way but they were unable to trace it. On 30th of October, their own ten day guarantee of receiving products within 10 days of shipping and full refund otherwise had expired. When I contacted them, they cancelled my product as per their guarantee but said that they weren’t able to issue a refund yet. Every time I was assured I would hear back in four hours about the refund, but never did. It has been 18 days since I placed the order and they claimed shipment was dispatched. I haven’t received any refunds yet nor even an intimation from snapdeal on intent to refund. I believe snapdeal has kept a huge amount of money locked in (35000) and is earning interest on it while refusing to process a refund until dire steps are threatened.
I want a refund of the money + interest for the delay in payment @6% since October 27th.
