On 15TH OCT 2014, i ordered for a voltas minimagic water dispenser from snapdeal.com (order no.3206515291 ), which was delivered on 23rd oct evening, after making number of calls to customer care. We used the water dispenser on the same day and it had a major leakage causing water spillage in the house, the product was defective, so we informed snapdeal and simultaneously lodged a complaint no. 14102201554 with voltas. on 25th oct. a technician from voltas repaired the product butwithin 1 day the product stopped working all together, so as per complaint lodged with snapdeal, a reverse pick up was arranged by snapdeal on 29th oct. the replacement was to be provided by 8th of november 2014, but it didnt reach me and the delivery date was changed to 14th, so i asked for cancellation on 9th november. reference no.11613064 was given, and the customer care executive promised refund in a weeks time. till today no refund has been provided. customer care executives tell different things at different times. some say cancellation has been done, money will come in some days. some say cancellation has not happened. sometimes we receive message saying product is out for delivery , on calling customer care, they say message has come by default.customer care has been providing misleading, information each time. till now i have made over 30 calls to them, and haven’t received any concrete information regarding when the refund will be done. they say they are going to call back on the status of refund, but nothing is being done
1) I wish to receive full refund of the amount spend on the product along with the compensation liable as per law for the stress and blocking the money for such a long time 2) Action to be taken as per RTI act against snapdeal for providing wrong, misleading or no information. 3)Most importantly urging concerned authorities to look into this matter as it looks like a big scam wherein snapdeal seems to be providing defective items and holding many customers money for a long time (as evident from the grievances of many consumers on social media) and enjoying the interest on huge amount of money held back.
