I purchased Sony xperia Zr in July 2014 at my hometown Jodhpur. It is a waterproof model of the series, capable of underwater video and picture shooting up to 1.5 meter. For the underwater usage both charging and audio plug port must be firmly closed with flaps.
In the month of December i used this phone for underwater shooting. I kept both the plugs closed and for extra security i applied cello tape firmly on both the plugs. I also maintained the 1 feet (0.30 meter) as standard depth was 4.92 feet (1.5 meter). But after capturing a video and few photos my phone got dead. I visited to service center for the repairing. They told me that it is a water damage it can’t be repaired or replaced. Service center executives were not ready to accept that i used phone with in the allowed conditions. I told them there is defect in body of phone i.e. from there water entered in the phone and if it is a waterproof phone how could it get damaged so easily with in safe conditions. They offered me discount of 20% on new phone but i refused to accept as there was no fault or mistake or negligence from my side. I tried to convey this message to senior authorities of sony mobile but they were not ready to provide me any remedy or replacement. So now i am forced to file a complaint against manufacturer for providing a product of inferior quality and misleading customers regarding product features. Please help me as i am feeling be cheated.
I want Sony mobile company to replace my mobile phone and to pay me my compensation for repairing fees charged and wasting of my time.
