I would like to place a complaint for fraudulent usage of my Standard Chartered (StanChart) credit card in Nov 2012. The details of the transaction are as follows, Transaction Date: 8-Nov-2012 Merchant name- WIZZAIRHUN920WZZQCHK9H-BUDAPEST HU Transacted Amt.: GBP 331.48 (i.e. INR 30,399.28) I had immediately intimated STANDARD CHARTERED BANK on 9-Nov-2012 about the fraudulent transaction done on my card & disputed the amount once I received the SMS for the transaction done on my card fraudulently. Here are the sequence of events & actions taken by me in this regard, 1. Called the Bank on 9-Nov-2012 complaining about the transaction, once I received the SMS for the transaction. 2. My credit card was immediately blocked by the Bank & a fresh card was issued to me. 3. The bank asked me to fill & share the Dispute Form so that they can handle the fraudulent transaction & the same was dully filled & faxed to the bank on 22-Nov-2012 (Bank Dispute Ref. No. 20121113043181). 4. I received no response/intimation about the complaint filed by me until 9-May-2013. 5. On 9-May-2013, I received a phone call from the Bank where I was informed that the complaint registered by me has been closed. But the individual wasn’t in a position to divulge details of the outcome. 6. I called the Bank to know the details & I was asked to wait for 3-4 working days as the details weren’t updated at the customer service desk. 7. On 17-May 2013, when I called customer care again; I was asked to file a police complaint at the nearest Police Station & share the scanned copy with the Bank immediately. 8. I filed a written complaint in this regard with Vile Parle Police Station about the said fraudulent transaction done on my Standard Chartered Credit Card (Card No. 4129 0348 1622 7489) on 18-May-2013 as per the instructions given by the Bank on 17-May-2013. 9. A scanned copy of the Police Complaint was sent to the Bank on 20-May-2013 by an email. 10. Regardless of my complaint, the Bank charged me for the fraudulent transaction in May 2013 credit card statement. After my numerous calls at the call center, I was informed by Cards Manager that as per their decision, I’m liable to pay for the transaction disputed by me. I was also informed to send a written communication to Standard Chartered Bank (Chennai) re-disputing charge. 11. Finally on 6-Jul-2013, I received an email from Standard Chartered Bank (Ref: 05/13/079918/SP/CRD) which was in reply to my email dated 20-May-2013 and stated that I’m liable to make the payment. 12.
