I was using Tikona Broadband for a while and in February 2013, I decided to shut down the service. Tikona registered the complaint, but they have 10-15 days long retention policy. Without my consent, they retained the connection. Because I was facing some issues with the internet connection I had applied for, I kept using Tikona Broadband. In April and May 2013, I continued to faced a lot of issues with the Tikona and kept making incessant phone calls to their customer services so they could send their engineers to my place. Alas, no one came. They kept on sending me bills for the internet service that I could not even use. My question was: why am I required to pay the bill when I have not even used the service? In September, I see an email from the legal department of Tikona where they had filed a case against me for not making the bill payment. I had re-iterated the same issue that is mentioned above in an email to which I didn’t get a reply. Later that month the Tikona representatives came home and took the modem and all the other wiring. I allowed them to take it away. The demand notice was for a bill of Rs. 1761 plus modem fees of Rs. 1500 which will charged if I don’t return the Modem. So ideally the amount payable should have only been Rs. 1761. But today I received a call from an advocate i.e. Ms. Avantika Sharma from Mumbai telling me about the case Tikona filed against me for an amount payable of Rs. 3216. I dont understand why they are charging Rs. 1500 extra for the modem not returned. Though I have made the payment of Rs. 3216 on 17th Jan 2013, I wanted to know why are they demanding those extra Rs. 1500
First, I want to know why are they charging me those extra Rs. 1500. Secondly, I wanted to file an harassment case against them and be suitably compensated by Tikona Service.
