I bought a Vodafone Prepaid SIM in July 2013 after a lot of hassle being resident of a relatively remote place devoid of proper services, on 23rd of May 2014 my sim card was blocked by vodafone services without any prior warning; with a balance of more than Rs. 100 and an internet pack worth Rs 147 set to expire on 15th of June 2014 still available. As I am and employee with strict working hours I tried to contact vodafone customer care at 111 on the following saturday but bot would redirect me to useless offers. On saturday when I was successful in contacting vodafone personnel I was informed that my simcard has been blocked due to some inconsistensy/ Non-compliance by sim card vendor (the only one around in our region) and cannot be reactivaed, ( they say that I was unable to submit the required documents within time, which i did with the vendor), one can imagine my shock when I recieved the same answer when I reconfirmed his reply with skepticism. Any case, irritated with poor services of vodafone in last 8 months I decided to swallow the monetary loss just inoccured and port the number to airtel, when I realized that they had shut down the sim completely. Now I am left with a simcard that carries the number that is circulating as my only contact number, had a balance of more than Rs.250 but has been shutdown and cannot be ported.
