I have purchased Flat developed by builder and Agreement Date: 23-February-2010 registered in the office of Sub Registrar Haveli No.20 at S. No 1887/2010. I am living in this flat from 1-April-201 Builder is demanding to pay VAT amount Rs. 69,206/- with the interest 15% from the date of 1-November-2012 till 1-November-2015. Total amount is Rs 1,00,348/- Builder has sent notice and asked to pay Rs 1,00,348 within 7 days on receipt of Notice. I have received notice on 5-March-2016. Also cost of notice Rs. 5000 is asked to pay.

I was heard that The Supreme Court said Value Added Tax (VAT) cannot be imposed on buyers, those who have bought property between June 2006 and March 2010. I am staying in same flat from 2010 to 2016. Please advice on same.
