Airtel Mobile SIM InterState Transfer & Activation Review

First of all, I was really amazed by Airtel’s lack of responsiveness toward consumers and informative dis-coordination among different operating bodies. None of the nodal offices or respective customer care centers bothered to reply to me by email or call after I sent emails to both Chennai and Maharashtra nodal officers. Moreover, two of your email addresses turned out to be complete fake.

By the way, I called the person (to whom I gave my documents and got new SIM card in Chennai’s Nodal office) and he told me that he has sent email to Airtel’s back office of Maharashtra circle but he didn’t got any response yet. He said that he has also send reminders but they haven’t been reverted back. I’m also not sue that if he attached documents with email to be verified by Maharashtra Airtel.

Since there are many authoritative persons (representing different govt. organizations) in CC of this email, including appellate officers, I would like to raise some very serious questions through this email. They are as following:

1) Why didn’t I receive any call, email or sms from Airtel saying that you card could get deactivated due to so and so reasons apart of physical damage, electronic issue or loss of SIM card?
2) Why consumer with serious issues doesn’t receive any notification SMS or email soon after it contacts with any of these offices? No call center representative escalated my request.
2) Why only post-paid customers are taken care of more quickly and attentively than pre-paid ones? This is what most mobile phone customers experience.
3) Why shouldn’t be activation process made faster by sending requests (and not emails!) through an intranet software from one Nodal/back office to another?
4) Why there’s no coordination among Nodal office, back office and customer care (call center)? Everybody points finger towards others. That’s it!
5) Why don’t you make kind of national phone no. facility available so that a travelling or frequently migrating person shouldn’t get troubled in restoring services to new SIM card procured from local offices?

@Chennai Nodal officer – Would you please confirm with Mr. Moulesh (from Counter#1) that whether he had attached scanned copies required documents with email to Maharashtra office or not? I’m ready to pay for charges for this process if any.

Being as a software engineer by occupation, I would kindly suggest Airtel to upgrade its software applications to work more efficiently, faster and free of state boundaries. Collected forms and documents should be immediately entered into system for faster transfer.

Please let me make myself clear that what all I want is services back and smooth as soon as possible. Already I’ve incurred considerable amount of loss but still I’m open for cooperation with you. Please investigate into this matter urgently!

Best regards,
Sachchidanand
