Bata : Does it really promise what it claims to its customers ?

This is with reference to the complaint regarding “Sachin Khandekar” – who claims himself to be the Bata Shoes store manager.

I had made a purchase in the bata store for a reflexology concept chappal at Bata store – Nirmal Lifestyle, LBS Marg, Mulund West, Mumbai. This was purchased on 25 Nov, 2013 for an amount of Rs. 649. With one wear, there was a tear, which is unheard of Bata footwear. Hence, I went to the store to look for alternate option so that the foot wear can be replaced. Here is the flow of the conversation:

I went to the store, Two employees in red T-shirt were sitting there to whom I gave my complaint that the footwear in one wear was torn. I reminded them that this foot wear given to me was from the Demo piece, despite my asking at the time of purchase a new one, they still issued me a demo piece. Now, I can understand the reason for its immediate tear. So I went to the store to get it replaced.

The salesperson was had no patience to listen to the conversation: Flow of the conversation was as below after the two fellows sitting there re-directed me to the manager

Manager walks in casually. I tell him the issue, even before I could complete the whole sentence of my issue, he starts interrupting. I informed him that I did not have the bill, but have the credit card transaction in my statement. so he said it will take 2 days and that too I have to write to some website, email id etc., I said, why that long and why to an id and I started telling him that I have another issue of bata.. but he did not care to listen, as he is not used to listening to customers, I think. So, anyway, when he continued talking crap, I asked him if Bata expects me to play marbles tll then (Goti khelana padega) as 2 -3 days is very long. I enquired if he can give this in writing for which there was a flat denial, so I said, he must put up a board outlinign this process, so next time, I will be careful of keeping the bill. For which he said that it is not his business to keep the board and does not care as it is bata responsibility to manage its reputation. You can imagine as a customer, how I must have felt, he simply provoked me and I lost my cool, He started saying that I must not bother him as his mood was not good and did not want any issues etc.., So I freaked on him and referred him to get lost. Its when my husband interrupted, for which he started telling him that he should teach me how to talk, which was unnecessary. So, I told my husband.. leave him, he is an idiot. for which he started interrupting and refferred to me that I must to do all this talking at my home to my husband, told me I am an idiot and threatened me that he will get physical with me. As a lady, wonder what he was trying to say and do. No doubt, Bata stores dont have women employee’s.. as only women can be compassionate towards its customer.. This man – SACHIN KHANDEKAR continues to work in this store, God save the store.. No doubt, the store has hardly any business. If the service is this.. then god save bata its promise that they claim.

With all this, it has left a very bad taste in me and vouch that I will never ever buy anything from BATA. I would like my issue to be resolved as below

1. Send the Customer Service executive to my residence and provide replacement of the footwear. I have no faith to go back again to this store
2. As instructed by this store manager, I have reported the complaint also on their helpline. Complaint number is 124122
3. Take action against this manager, so that another customer must not go this bad experience every again
