Beauty Parlor – Carelessness skin burns – Review

Carelessness of beautician leading to skin burns, discoloration and pigmentation June 20, 2014 It was my engagement on June 22, 2014 and hence I wanted to do a body bleach and polish. Latha beautician applied oxy bleach on my skin and body. After 5 minutes, I had itchiness throughout the body and went near the sink and washed the bleach following which latha wiped out the remaining bleach on my body with a cloth. My body turned red in color with boils on it. I asked her why this happened because I use oxy bleach regularly and I am not allergic to it. I suspected if there is a problem in the product. Latha convinced me saying my skin might be sensitive because of any hormonal changes. I did not give much attention because I was busy treating my skin for the next whole week with medicines as prescribed by Dr. Shetty (Richmond road) spending about 20,000/- rupees. August 11, 2014 Incident Part 1 I scheduled an appointment at 1:00 pm on August 11, 2014 in Lakme Salon Franchise Koramangala Jyoti Nivas College road for the following services: · Eyebrows threading (beautician Latha) · Facial (beautician Latha) · Hand waxing (beautician Latha) · Hair Spa (Hair expert Tashee) August 12, 2014 was my birthday. So I was all the very excited to go and get my services done and pamper myself. Incident Part 2 Latha analysed my skin and suggested that I do a bleach because I have some tan on my skin following while she will continue with the facial. I agreed and reminded her that I have a sensitive skin and that she should handle me with care. She applied the bleach and kept it for 5-6 minutes following which she removed the bleach. She walked out and rushed with some ice cubes and rubbed on my skin. My skin felt so numb and it was filled with full of bubbles. I asked her as why she is rubbing ice on skin and she did not want to disclose that I have had a reaction on my skin. The mistakes that Latha did are the following: 1. Failed to do a patch test in spite of me insisting that I have a sensitive skin. She told me this is a new product exclusively for sensitive skin and they generally never do patch test. 2. Added water in blending bleach and activator powder. Even last time she had done this. 3. Rubbed my bubble like infected skin with lacto calamine, aloe Vera gel and ice cubes which has led to skin discoloration, pigmentation and burns because of lactic acid in lacto calamine. Incident Part 3 I spoke to the owner of franchise, Meera who was disinterested to even hear my story. Rather she screamed at me and told me to be proactive. She also did not care about the careless mistake of her beautician in the salon. She was ready to take it legally and face the consequences. I demanded an off the court settlement. There was a gentlemen and a women, who represented lakme, met me and offered that they will retrieve my skin with a set of free treatments and follow-ups.

I want a compensation for the injuries that they have done to me. I will demand a sum of 10 lakh rupees.
