BSNL landline dead for 1 Year & 4 Months – No RepairsYet

My Bsnl landline no. is 2549-1509. It is dead from 17th January,2012. Complaint lodged with bsnl for dead landline on 18th January,2012. We were told that due to faulty cable, line was disconnected and would be repaired within one month. Despite repeated visits to telephone exchange, once every week, every time i am assured that landline will be restored within a month. This continues till today also. But BSNL is still charging us landline broadband charges of Rs.441 per month even when the line is dead for more than a year. I was assured by Area Manager and Divisional engineer and accounts officer of BSNL that the amount will be refunded once my landline is restored. I had stopped paying bsnl bills after bsnl landline was dead. I received bill amount till the amount Rs.2175 due to be paid. Subsequently, i observed in my bill, that my outgoing calls were barred for non-payment of bill (when actually is it dead for months). But for last month’s bill, i found that BSNL has dissolved my security deposit of Rs.2280 towards non-payment of dues, when actually my landline was dead for more than 16 months. And my landline is still dead till today and i got no confirmation from bsnl when it will be restored.

We were are still facing extreme difficulties without the service of BSNL. It served us for calling our family and friends and also used it for broadband purpose. With BSNL giving false hopes, we thought the connection would be restored soon, but it never happened. I had complained via every possible way, from Account manager, Divisional engineer, Area manager, General manager, through letters, through emails every now and then. But we never got any positive reply from any senior folks of BSNL. And another shocking fact is that this fault was not limited to our house, more than 100 houses facing this problem of disconnected landlines for 16months for the people of Motijheel Avenue. Although BSNL fixed landlines on priority basis os some important and influential personalities in Motijheel, common people like me were still the sufferers. Most of the people in my neighbourhood has lost all hopes from bsnl. BSNL never once bothered to inform us on their own about their fault. I thought enough is enough from BSNL, and my last option was to knock the door on Consumer form and seek help. I have a very strong case in hand against bsnl, with all documents from complaints to letters to emails available with me.
