Casio Edifice Authorized Service Center – Review

This is to bring it to your kind notice that I had given my Casio edifice wrist watch (model no. EQS-A1000DB) for crystal/glass replacement at Horolab (Casio authorized service centre) at Hanumanthnagar at Bangalore on 26th of July, 2014. The glass wasn’t available then, so I paid an advance amount of INR 500/- and ordered one from Japan and continued to use the watch with a scratch on lest side of the dial. I continued with several follow-ups but nothing happened till November 2014, when at last they managed to get the crystal.

I was out of station then and soon rushed to them for replacement after reaching Bangalore. Since, I had to travel again I politely asked Mr. Sharath Hedge to get the glass replaced on the same day in my presence and was ready to wait for whole evening but the owner rudely responded that others also do come and cry, we will take our time no matter you request hundred times. I remember those lines because I felt that like a beggar, begging for my own watch. So, I took the watch out of my hand and handed over the same to the service center. Days passed but no response until one day I got a call from one of their employees that my watch is ready. When I went to collect my watch it wasn’t working, the arms completely stopped. I asked for the reason and they said it is just a setting issue and a technician will care of same, you give us some more time. My patience was giving up but somehow I consoled myself as it was a matter of some more days, may be a week. After considerable amount of time in first week of Jan 2014, I was been told by an employee that my watch fell and broke and had to be sent to Delhi for repair and I have to bear the charges for its repair. So, they broke my watch in their custody and want me to pay for it. I was completely pissed off and reached out to Casio head office at Delhi. My complaint no. is I201501140003. After exchange of few emails, The Casio head office held me responsible that I had given a broken watch. I was so depressed that instead of helping customers Casio was supporting their service center. I asked a simple and logical question to them that can a person will wear a watch showing wrong time and date from months before giving it for replacement? Can a person go for a INR 1000 glass replacement for a watch which is not working? It takes years to build a brand which further requires nurturing to maintain the same by providing right kind of customer service and not by harassing customers. So, I demanded either a new watch of the same model or equivalent amount of money. They said they were going to repair the watch free of cost and treat it as a special case. I don’t know why the sudden change in tone and were obliging me by doing it for free. I replied that I don’t trust them and will not accept a repaired watch as I have several unpleasant experiences with repaired electronic gadgets. I want a new same model watch or equivalent amount of my money back.

I want the aforementioned amount along with INR 50,000 for mental harassment and trauma suffered. In total INR 92,995/- as damages.
