Defective Zurina King size bed from CITILINE Godrej Interio

I had purchased a ‘Zurina King size’ bed from ‘CITILINE Godrej Interio’ showroom at Chas, Bokaro in September, 2010. The bed was brought in 8 parts/components and was due to be assembled on site. Out of those 8 parts, one part of the assembly was defective ( holes for the screws did not match). The technician, from the shop, somehow assembled the parts (by drilling a different hole to match the parts) and assured that the defective part would be replaced as soon as possible. It took around 2 months for the spare part to arrive. Meanwhile, the drilled hole of the defective part got damaged, thereby causing damage to other parts as well (the other parts got bent and misaligned). The technician advised to replace the bed with a new one but Mr. Sudipto Bhowmik, Godrej Interio, Ranchi Office, who had to arrange for the same, did not agree. Instead he argued that he would replace all the parts one by one, if needed, but not the whole bed. Then he ordered another part of the assembly to replace. Again it took around 2-3 months. Similarly 3 more parts got replaced in the next 12 months, but problem persisted. Then I contacted Mr. Priyavrat Sanyal, Godrej Interio, Mumbai Office, in November 2011, to help solve the problem. Again 3 more parts got replaced in the next 7 months. Now 7 out of 8 parts have been replaced but the problem still persists. The time gap between the replacement of defective parts had been around 2-3 months for each part. The time when a new part arrives, the previously replaced part deforms due to faulty assembly of the bed. The joints of the bed are still mismatched and loose and there is too much noise coming out from the bed under normal load. Around 3 months back, a technician from ‘Godrej Interio’, Ranchi Office visited. He told that the only solution is to replace the whole assembly. Now, the Service Manager of the Ranchi Branch, Mr. Vivek refuses to offer any further help/action to solve the problem

The cost of the bed was Rs. 22000/-(in September,2010) I had to bear the transportation cost each time when a part arrives to get replaced and also the tip that had to be given to the technicians each time they visited. That counts to a total of around Rs. 2000/- At last, more than anything, the mental harassment that I and my family had to face due the product and those related to ‘Godrej Interio’.
