I had a package couriered to me on February 26, 2016 from the US. Because I had not got the package within the three to five day limit and I had to travel, I had asked Fedex to leave the package with the receptionist at the place I am staying. Sometime early March I got a call from Fedex Mumbai they can move the package to clear customs to Ahmedabad from Mumbai. I agreed as I am stationed in Ahmedebad. It is April 2 and I still do not have the package. In Ahmedabad I was asked to pay an additional Rs 5555 (approximately 80 dollars) which is more than it cost to courier from US. After giving the money, the folks at Fedex Ahmedabad said that ti now my responsibility to get the package from customs. I called Mumbai Fedex and they said the package had cleared customs on April 1 and they would be delivering it today. As I have said I still do not have the package after six weeks. I l do not understand why I and to pay an additional 5555 and then told to pick up. I have had no problems with Fedex in the US. India Fedex is a different story. Different folks in India give different answers, creating confusion.At any rate they have not delivered. After six weeks!!! It would have been easier for me to go to the US get the stuff personally.
