Hathway Broadband – Delay Service no customer care

I had paid 7415 INR (Cash) on 3rd Sept 2014 to get a new internet plan (i am their existing customer – Customer Id 151320) and requested the connection to be up ASAP. I was informed that my modem needs to be changed for the same. I had requested Umesh (the person to whom i had paid the money) to send the engineer on Saturday – Sunday as i go to work from 8:30 AM to 10 PM and my family had gone out of town. Nothing happened until 6th Sept. So i called the call center and raised a complaint with them. As a part of temporary solution, they gave me a “Free Temporary Internet pack”. Which got discontinued on 12th Sept. The following Saturday-Sunday i called the call center, to know that as per their records, my modem has been changed and my new plan was activated from 12th. I helped them correct the mistake, but they said nothing can be done now as the new plan is activated. They accepted that it was their mistake but they were not in a position to correct it. The only resolution was a modem change. I was given some out of the world suggestions : keep your keys with neighbors, etc…!! So i patiently waited till 20th (the next Saturday)… i was again ditched… nobody came to me to change the modem… not even on 21st… finally… i was continuously calling the call center requesting immediate assistance… but nobody helped… Finally, on a weekday, i got a call from Mr Ajay (from kandivali East sai star- hathway office), i spilled out my frustration on him… he bluntly threatened me,”Aapko internet chahiye ya nahi!!!” i was sooo angry… i said, i cant b home on weekdays…!! and banged the phone… then again the same old follow up story went on… till 20th… every one telling me that i will get a new modem on Saturday (20th). Again on 20th, when nobody turned out till 12 PM, i again called the call center, just to know from Mr Sandeep (some technical team guy from the call center) that the engineer has updated the system that i dont want the modem… without Modem i cant have internet service… i again explained me and scolded him…. FINALLY the modem was installed on 20th..!!

The frustration was immense. i was without any internet for almost 17 days..!! All the online transactions were put on hold… my mobile phone bill payment… and all other transactions had to be done by begging others… Even though my number 9833055xxx was the registered number… many a times, a call went to my dad… on 9869242xxx… he was on roaming, and had answered these people…
