Hotel Santhi Residency, Kanyakumari Denied Room Booked through StayZilla

With regards, I put the following lines before you for kind consideration. I had booked a four bedded room at Hotel Santhi Residency, Kanyakumari through Stayzilla.com. Stayzilla.com confirmed my booking vide order no. 429128-9-1417440177 on 1st December. My arrival at Kannyakumari was scheduled at 3.15 AM on 26.12.2015. My train arrived 15 minutes before the scheduled arrival time. I reached the hotel with my family and my friend with his family.

We were 4 adults and 3 children in the group. 5. When I reached the hotel, the watchman informed us that no room was available.He intimated us that the Manager would come at 8 AM. We requested the watch man to allow us to use any external, if available in the hotel. With much reluctance, he allowed us to use a bathroom and a toilet in the premises of the hotel. In the meantime, one of the kids, who was feeling unwell started vomitting. We took him to the Govt. Hospital at Kanyakumari. He needed rest, we could not provide.

After returning from the Hospital, it was nearly dawn, we requested the Hotel Manager to give us a room, in order to provide the kid rest. He denied to provide the room on the ground that payment was not made, hence, he had given that room to some other visitor. In this context, I am to make it clear, that I had paid Rs. 9.00 towards the booking cost of the hotel. The room rent was Rs. 2268.00. I had to pay Rs. 2259.00 at the Hotel counter on reporting. Stayzilla had confirmed my booking. I had no doubt that I won’t get a room in the hotel. I requested the Manager again and again and intimated him that my next hotel booking was at Trivandurm. By 12. noon I would vacate the room for onward movement to Trivandrum.

At about 8.00 AM the Manager, dialed to me and told that the room is ready. Up to that time since arrival at 3.15 AM, we seven people, including 3 children were on the pavement of the road. In the meantime, sensing nothing good, I had managed a taxi to agree for my onward journey to Trivandrum. Hence, I declined to occupy the room at 8.00 AM. I tried to contact the Stayzilla authority time and again, but failed. No body picked up the phone. The hotel authority behaved very much inhumanly towards us. They denied to provide the room, though I had a confirmed order and I was agree to pay the balance money. Opportunistically, when the Manager realised that the room will be used for a short time he offered the same. That the Manager, with dishonest motive had tried to raise rent from two different persons out of the same room at a time.

That, I was subject to untold difficulty, my self esteem was hampered when I made my family and friends to spend time on pavement. That, after the incident, Stayzilla authority dialled me to know about may stay at Trivandrum, but did not put a word about the stay at Kanyakumari. Hence, I request you to take appropriate action against the Hotel Manager and Stayzilla authority.
