While IRCTC charges extra for booking online tickets and is a part of Indian Railways booking system and all rules and regulations applicable from Indian Railways, it does passenger allow wait listed rs to travel from Train. While you can buy waitlisted ticket from Indian Railways counters and travel on that ticket, IRCTC takes service charges on that ticket for convenience, still customer can’t travel paying more charges – how fair is that? Where is the convenience then, for which customer paid the charge?
All the rules applied for the Indian Railways counter tickets facilities must be applied to Online ticket buyers to give them fair treatment, because they are also paying more for convenience. Online services are still very poor despite charges levied on tickets booking – cancellations and millions of people use online services every day. All travelers are same, then why difference in treating for tickets when train is same and end service provider is Indian Railways only.
