KTM Bikes – most despicable service

Not really sure where to start.. Should I regret buying one of the finest bike or should I simply curse the people, who I have to deal with post getting one!

I bought a KTM RC200 with high hope and expectation, only to discover that the bike came with a faulty engine (as found within 1 year of usage @ 12000 kms approx).

The engine head they said needed to be replaced, for which I had to give away the bike to service center located at Kasturba Road and patiently wait for a week to get the job done. The service center people took their sweet time to get a replacement, which obviously didn’t do any justice. As the engine sound (rather noise) drastically increased post replacement.

I politely inquired with the center head about the strange noise, only to get a standard answer “this is normal”.

I further added why not replace the engine, as it is showing signs of defectiveness from the manufacturing unit (as it is just about a year old).

Again to my agony, he replied “the engine cannot be replaced, unless it shows greater malfunctioning”.

Now within another 10,000 kms post the engine head replacement..the bike has come to a complete halt. The local mechanic says that the entire engine including piston/crank shaft etc etc etc needs to be replaced or repaired!!!!

My question to you people is..who is running this circus called KTM Service Centers?

Why do these jokers take everything lightly? And when will you despicable people learn not to answer every damn issue being raised with “Its normal sir/every ktm has this issue”.

I wish I was in US or Austria or any other country..at least I could’ve SUED you damned people for the painful experience and the money spent (in the name of servicing).

This bike has been regularly serviced.. On time every time and at the service center you people have registered legally.

It is very clear that it was a faulty engine right from the beginning!! As you guys will agree, issues are rather rare with a bike as old as 12 or 14 months.

Today as I dread spending another 20,000 or 25,000 INR for the same bike, it makes me wonder. Who should I blame?

I wish to take this on social media/legal or any other ways possible to make my point heard by KTM.

Believing that, there still could be few good men in the system. Who might take necessary action and give respite to bike lovers like myself.

Signed
